Laura Noakes is a British author known for her debut children’s novel, Cosima Unfortunate Steals a Star, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books in 2023. The book is set in Victorian London and follows the adventures of Cosima and her friends as they attempt a daring heist. Noakes has a background in legal history and completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge, focusing on the history of disabled people in the legal profession. Her academic work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Cosima Unfortunate Steals a Star was selected as Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month in June 2023.
