Laura Hughes is a British illustrator known for her work on children’s picture books. She studied illustration at Kingston University, graduating in 2005. Hughes has illustrated numerous books for young readers, collaborating with a range of authors. Her illustrations are featured in titles such as There’s a Pig Up My Nose by John Dougherty, which was published by Egmont and won the Oscar’s Book Prize in 2018. She has also illustrated The Birthday Invitation by Lucy Rowland and Daddy’s Sandwich by Pip Jones, both published by Bloomsbury.
Hughes’s work includes both fiction and non-fiction, and she has contributed to anthologies and standalone titles. Her illustrations have appeared in books published by Bloomsbury, Egmont, and Nosy Crow, among others. In addition to her collaborations, Hughes has also worked on activity books and educational materials for children.
Her illustrations for There’s a Pig Up My Nose received recognition when the book was awarded the Oscar’s Book Prize in 2018.
