L.C. Rosen biography

L.C. Rosen is an American author known for writing young adult and adult fiction, often exploring themes of identity, sexuality, and self-discovery. He is also credited as Lev Rosen. Rosen’s work includes novels, short stories, and essays, and he has contributed to anthologies and literary journals.

Rosen’s debut young adult novel, Jack of Hearts (and Other Parts), was published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers in 2018. The book follows a gay teenager navigating relationships, friendship, and privacy at a New York City private school. The novel has been noted for its candid approach to LGBTQ+ topics and has appeared on several recommended reading lists for teens.

In 2020, Rosen published Camp with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. The story centres on a queer summer camp and explores issues of gender expression, romance, and acceptance. Camp was longlisted for the 2021 CILIP Carnegie Medal.

Rosen has also written adult fiction, including the historical mystery Lavender House, published by Forge Books in 2022. Set in 1950s California, the novel features a queer detective investigating a murder in a secretive household. Lavender House was nominated for the 2023 Edgar Award for Best Novel.

Other works by Rosen include Depth (2015), a noir mystery set in a future New York, and Woundabout (2015), a middle-grade novel co-authored with Ellis Rosen. He has contributed essays and short stories to various publications and anthologies, focusing on LGBTQ+ representation and issues in literature.

Rosen’s books have been published in the United States and internationally. He is active on social media and participates in literary events, panels, and school visits. In 2022, his novel Lavender House was published by Forge Books.
