Kelly DiPucchio biography

Kelly DiPucchio is an American children’s author whose work includes picture books, novels and humorous stories.

She was born in Warren, Michigan, on 7 March 1967. DiPucchio graduated from Michigan State University in 1989 with a degree in child psychology and development.

Her first published book was Bed Hogs (2004). Among her best-known titles are Grace for President (2008), The Sandwich Swap (co-authored with Queen Rania of Jordan, 2010), and Gaston (2014).

Grace for President appeared on The New York Times bestseller list in 2008. The book was selected for the IRA Teachers’ Choices Reading List in 2009.

Her title Gaston was chosen for the IRA Teachers’ Choices Reading List in 2015 and was also named a 2015 Notable Children’s Book for younger readers by the Association for Library Service to Children. In 2014 she received the Gwen Frostic Award from the Michigan Reading Association.
