Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Kathleen Glasgow is an American author known for her work in young adult fiction. She is the author of several novels, including Girl in Pieces, How to Make Friends with the Dark, and You’d Be Home Now. Glasgow’s writing often explores themes relevant to young people, such as mental health and personal resilience.
Her debut novel, Girl in Pieces, was published by Delacorte Press in 2016. The book follows the story of a young woman navigating trauma and recovery. Glasgow’s subsequent novel, How to Make Friends with the Dark, was released in 2019, also by Delacorte Press. This novel addresses grief and the challenges faced by teenagers experiencing loss. In 2021, she published You’d Be Home Now, which examines family dynamics and addiction.
In addition to her solo works, Kathleen Glasgow co-authored the novel The Agathas with Liz Lawson. The Agathas was published by Delacorte Press in 2022 and is a mystery novel for young readers.
Glasgow’s books have been published by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House. Her work has been recognised for its focus on difficult topics affecting young people. The Agathas, co-written with Liz Lawson, was published in 2022.
