Kate Petty was a British author and editor known for her work in children’s non-fiction. She wrote and edited numerous books aimed at young readers, often focusing on educational topics such as science, language, and nature. Petty collaborated with various illustrators, including Jennie Maizels, to create interactive and engaging books that frequently featured pop-ups and other novelty elements.
Among her notable works is The Great Grammar Book, illustrated by Jennie Maizels and published by Walker Books. This title is recognised for its accessible approach to teaching grammar to children. Petty also authored The Amazing Pop-up Geography Book and The Super Science Book, both of which use interactive features to explain complex subjects in a child-friendly manner.
