Justin Somper biography

Justin Somper is a British author best known for his work in children’s and young adult fiction. He is the creator of the Vampirates series, which blends elements of fantasy, adventure, and the supernatural. The first book in the series, Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean, was published in 2005. The series follows twins Grace and Connor Tempest as they encounter pirates and vampires on the high seas.

Somper’s background includes work as a publicist in children’s publishing before he became a full-time writer. His experience in the publishing industry informed his approach to writing and engaging with young readers. The Vampirates series consists of six main novels: Demons of the Ocean (2005), Tide of Terror (2006), Blood Captain (2007), Black Heart (2009), Empire of Night (2010), and Immortal War (2011). In addition, he wrote a novella, Dead Deep, which was published for World Book Day in 2007.

Somper has also written the Allies & Assassins series, which includes Allies & Assassins (2013) and A Conspiracy of Princes (2015). These books are set in a medieval-inspired world and focus on intrigue, mystery, and political drama.
