Julia Kuo biography

Julia Kuo is an illustrator and author whose work appears in children’s books, editorial projects, and commercial collaborations. She has illustrated a range of picture books and non-fiction titles for young readers, working with publishers such as Macmillan, Roaring Brook Press, and Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Her illustration credits include Rising Above: Inspiring Women in Sports by Gregory Zuckerman, Go, Little Green Truck! by Roni Schotter, and The Sound of Silence by Katrina Goldsaito.

Kuo has also authored and illustrated her own picture books. Her book Let’s Do Everything and Nothing was published by Roaring Brook Press in 2022. In addition to her work in publishing, Kuo has contributed illustrations to editorial outlets and has collaborated with organisations such as the New York Times and Google.

Julia Kuo’s illustration style is recognised for its expressive linework and thoughtful use of colour. She has also taught illustration at Washington University in St. Louis. In 2023, Kuo illustrated Sometimes Love by Katrina Moore, published by Dial Books for Young Readers.
