John Green is an American author of young adult fiction. He published his debut novel, Looking for Alaska, in 2005 with Dutton Juvenile. The book won the Michael L. Printz Award from the American Library Association in 2006. His second novel, An Abundance of Katherines, was released in 2006 and became a finalist for the Michael L. Printz Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
In 2008, Green published Paper Towns, which won the Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel in 2009. Will Grayson, Will Grayson, co-authored with David Levithan, was published in 2010. Green’s most widely known novel, The Fault in Our Stars, appeared in 2012 and reached number one on The New York Times Best Seller list. The novel was adapted into a feature film released in 2014.
Green’s other works include Turtles All the Way Down (2017), which debuted at number one on The New York Times Best Seller list. He has also published a collection of essays, The Anthropocene Reviewed, in 2021. Several of his novels have been adapted for film and television.
John Green received the 2013 Children’s Choice Book Award for Teen Book of the Year for The Fault in Our Stars. He was included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
