Jean Ure biography

Jean Ure is a British author known for her extensive work in children’s and young adult fiction. She began writing at a young age and published her first book, Dance for Two, when she was sixteen. Ure has written numerous novels for children and teenagers, often exploring themes relevant to young readers, such as friendship, family, and growing up.

Her books include titles such as Fruit and Nutcase, Skinny Melon and Me, Plague 99, and Family Fan Club. Ure’s writing is recognised for its accessible style and its focus on contemporary issues faced by young people. She has also written series such as the Dance Trilogy and the Havelock High series.

In addition to her novels, Jean Ure has contributed to anthologies and written plays for children. Her work is published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, among other publishers. Ure’s novel Skinny Melon and Me was published by HarperCollins Children’s Books in 1996.
