Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
James Goodhand is a British author known for his work in young adult fiction. His debut novel, Last Lesson, was published by Penguin in 2020. The book explores themes relevant to teenage life and has been noted for its contemporary setting. Goodhand’s second novel, Man Down, was released in 2022, also by Penguin. His writing has been recognised for its engagement with issues affecting young people.
Goodhand’s novels have been published in the United Kingdom and are available through major retailers. Last Lesson was selected for the 2021 Branford Boase Award longlist, which recognises outstanding debut novels for children. His work is published by Penguin Random House Children’s UK.
James Goodhand’s most recent novel, The Day Trip, was published in 2023 by Penguin Michael Joseph. This title marks his first foray into adult fiction. Goodhand continues to write and publish novels for both young adult and adult audiences.
