James Fox biography

James Fox works in international children’s publishing in London and has written poetry and short fiction for a number of journals. His first novel for children, The Boy in the Suit, was published by Scholastic in 2024.

The story follows ten-year-old Solo, who, along with his mother, slips into funerals for food as they struggle with poverty. When they are caught and the incident goes viral, Solo faces new challenges at school and at home. The book explores themes of hardship, resilience and family, and is aimed at readers aged nine and above.
