Gordy Wright biography

Gordy Wright is a British illustrator, printmaker and picture book maker. He studied illustration at the University of the West of England and graduated with first-class honours in 2014.

Wright has illustrated children’s nonfiction and picture books for publishers including Nosy Crow, Holiday House and Abrams. His illustration credits include Secrets of the Dead, published by Nosy Crow in September 2022 (ISBN 9781788009003), and Sharks: A Mighty, Bite-y History, published by Abrams in May 2022 (ISBN 9781419747731).

He is the illustrator of Great Carrier Reef, published by Holiday House on 4 July 2023 (ISBN 9780823452682). The title was selected by the Junior Library Guild and was included in the New York Public Library’s best books for kids of 2023 list.

Wright’s picture book If You Went to the Bottom of the Ocean is scheduled for publication by Chronicle Books on 5 May 2026 (ISBN 9781797226514).
