Flora Luckman is an illustrator and artist who studied Illustration at the University of Edinburgh after completing a foundation course at Llwyn y Bryn, Gower College Swansea.
In 2021, Gower College Swansea commissioned Luckman to create a bespoke artwork for its Llwyn y Bryn Campus. The piece developed from a page in her final foundation project, a children’s book about the environment and travelling around the world. Her finished artwork was constructed from eight A1 sheets, with figures drawn separately, painted in watercolour, lined in ink, scanned and assembled digitally.
Luckman’s work was included in Llwybrau | Pathways, a 2022 Mission Gallery exhibition of emerging Welsh artists who had taken part in the gallery’s Raising the Bar education programme. Her exhibited work focused on Rosebush in Pembrokeshire and included paintings and video material.
At Edinburgh College of Art, Luckman was part of SPRITZ with Ally McKay and Lucy Parker. The collective was commended in the 2024 Bookmarks Prize, which recognises graduates using the book form in its widest sense.
In June 2026, Luckman was named on the Kelpies Prize for Illustration shortlist alongside Aneta Lukianska, Anna Mac, Susan Mitchell and Jenni Sheward.
