Erik Kriek biography

Erik Kriek is a Dutch illustrator, comic artist, and author known for his work in graphic novels and illustrated books. He studied at the Rietveld Academy of Art and Design in Amsterdam. Kriek has contributed illustrations to various magazines and publications, and his comics have appeared in several anthologies.

Among his notable works is In the Pines: 5 Murder Ballads, a graphic novel published in English by SelfMadeHero in 2017. This book adapts classic American murder ballads into illustrated stories. Kriek is also recognised for his graphic novel adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft stories, published as Het Onzienbare en andere verhalen H.P. Lovecraft in Dutch and later translated into English as From Beyond and Other Tales.

Erik Kriek’s work has been published internationally, and he has received recognition within the comics community. In 2017, his book In the Pines: 5 Murder Ballads was published in English by SelfMadeHero.
