David Barker biography

David Barker is a British novelist writing thrillers and children’s fiction. He is the author of the middle-grade London Falling series, published by Tiny Tree. Book one, Pax and the Missing Head, was released in October 2023, followed by Pax and the Forgotten Pincher in October 2024.

Barker also wrote the climate-fiction Gaia trilogy for adults, originally published by Urbane Publications and later reissued by Bloodhound Books. The trilogy comprises Blue Gold (first published 11 May 2017), Rose Gold (2018), and White Gold (2019).

He studied at the Faber Academy in 2014 and has completed scriptwriting study with the National Centre for Writing. Barker is a member of the Society of Authors and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

In addition to his novels, Barker has written pantomime scripts and appears regularly at events and school visits. His work has also featured in book club discussions on local radio.

On 19 September 2025, Tiny Tree announced that Barker had signed a new two-book deal to publish standalone middle-grade novels in 2026 and 2027.
