Chris Butterworth is a British author known for writing non-fiction books for children. Her work often explores science, nature, and the environment, presenting factual information in accessible formats for young readers. Butterworth has collaborated with several illustrators, including John Lawrence and Charlotte Voake.

Her notable titles include Sea Horse: The Shyest Fish in the Sea, illustrated by John Lawrence, which was shortlisted for the 2007 Kate Greenaway Medal.
