Chris Butterworth is a British author known for writing non-fiction books for children. Her work often explores science, nature, and the environment, presenting factual information in accessible formats for young readers. Butterworth has collaborated with several illustrators, including John Lawrence and Charlotte Voake.
Her notable titles include Sea Horse: The Shyest Fish in the Sea, illustrated by John Lawrence, which was shortlisted for the 2007 Kate Greenaway Medal. Other works include How Did That Get in My Lunchbox? The Story of Food, See What a Seal Can Do, and Lunchbox: The Story of Your Food. Butterworth’s books are published by Walker Books and Candlewick Press.
She has also written Yucky Worms, illustrated by Charlotte Voake, and Walk with a Wolf, illustrated by Jim Arnosky. Walk with a Wolf was shortlisted for the 2002 English Association Non-Fiction Award. Her books have been translated into several languages and are used in educational settings.
