Chaaya Prabhat biography
Chaaya Prabhat is a graphic designer, illustrator and lettering artist from Chennai, India. She received a master’s degree in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her illustration work includes picture books, book covers and digital illustration projects.
Her picture-book illustration credits include Anni Dreams of Biryani by Namita Moolani Mehra, Glitter Everywhere! by Chris Barton, A Taste of Honey by Rebecca Sheir and The Numbers Race by Rekha S. Rajan. She also illustrated Fly in the Chai by Zenia Wadhwani, Honk Honk, Beep Beep, Putter Putt!, The Best Diwali Ever and Hide and Seek History: The Vikings.
The Numbers Race, written by Rekha S. Rajan and illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat, is a picture-book biography about Indian mathematician Shakuntala Devi. Fly in the Chai, written by Zenia Wadhwani and illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat, was published by Tundra Books on 24 March 2026.
