Caroline Pitcher is a British author known for her work in children’s and young adult fiction. She has written numerous books, including novels and picture books, published by established publishers such as Frances Lincoln and Andersen Press. Her titles include Silkscreen, Diamond (My Story), The Shaman Boy, The Littlest Owl, and The Snow Whale.
Pitcher’s novel Silkscreen was shortlisted for the Kathleen Fidler Award. Diamond (My Story) is part of the Scholastic My Story series, presenting historical fiction for young readers. The Shaman Boy was published by Andersen Press and explores themes of family and belonging. Her picture book The Littlest Owl, illustrated by Tina Macnaughton, was published by Little Tiger Press and has been translated into several languages.
Caroline Pitcher’s work has received recognition in the form of awards and nominations. Kevin the Blue won the Kathleen Fidler Award. The Snow Whale was shortlisted for the Stockton Children’s Book of the Year. Her books have been included in recommended reading lists for schools and libraries.
Pitcher’s writing covers a range of genres, including historical fiction, contemporary stories, and animal tales. Her books are published in the UK and internationally. Kevin the Blue was published in 1993, and The Littlest Owl was published in 2007.
