Camelia Pham biography

Camelia Pham is a Vietnamese illustrator and art director. She graduated in graphic design and works as a freelance illustrator across publishing, editorial, advertising and narrative projects. Her clients have included Google, Apple, Disney, Hachette, Puffin Books, the Los Angeles Times, Rebel Girls and Valve.

Pham won the international category of the Batsford Prize in 2018. Her work was selected for the Society of Illustrators annual exhibitions in 2019 and 2020 and for Communication Arts magazine’s annual competitions in the same years. She was also shortlisted for a World Illustration Award in 2022.

Her children’s publishing work includes illustrating Honor Cargill-Martin’s She Speaks: The Women of Greek Myths in Their Own Words, published by Magic Cat Publishing in 2024. The book retells eight Greek myths from the perspectives of women including Pandora, Medusa, Medea, Ariadne, Helen and Circe. Pham also illustrated Suki Ferguson’s Astrologica: An Encyclopedia of Myths and Legends from the Planets, Stars and Skies, published by Wide Eyed Editions in 2025.

For DK Children, Pham illustrated Hazel Atkinson’s The Extraordinary History of Witches, the first title in the Extraordinary Histories series, which explores witchcraft, folklore and beliefs from different cultures and historical periods. She returned to illustrate Atkinson’s The Extraordinary History of the Fae: Fairies, Spirits, and Other Magical Beings, an international exploration of fairy folklore and mythical beings published by DK in 2026.
