He was born in Dublin, Ireland, and attended Trinity College Dublin, where he graduated with honours in mathematics. Stoker worked as a civil servant in Dublin and also contributed theatre reviews to the Dublin Evening Mail.
In 1878, Stoker became the manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, working closely with actor Sir Henry Irving. He held this position for 27 years, during which he wrote numerous novels, short stories, and non-fiction works. His bibliography includes The Snake’s Pass (1890), The Jewel of Seven Stars (1903), The Man (1905), and The Lair of the White Worm (1911). Stoker also published collections such as Under the Sunset (1881) and Dracula’s Guest and Other Weird Stories (1914).
