Beverly Joubert biography

Beverly Joubert is a wildlife photographer, filmmaker, and author from Botswana. She is known for her collaborative work with her husband, Dereck Joubert. Together, they have produced numerous wildlife documentaries and books, focusing on African wildlife conservation.

Joubert has co-authored several children’s books, including Face to Face with Lions (2008) and Face to Face with Elephants (2008), both published by National Geographic. These books provide factual insights into the lives of African animals, drawing on the Jouberts’ extensive fieldwork and photography.

Her work has received international recognition. Beverly Joubert has won multiple awards, including the World Ecology Award and the National Geographic Explorer of the Year award, which she received jointly with Dereck Joubert in 2009. Their films and books have contributed to raising awareness about endangered species and conservation efforts in Africa.

In 2006, the Jouberts launched the Big Cats Initiative with National Geographic, aimed at halting the decline of big cat populations in the wild. Beverly Joubert continues to document wildlife and publish educational materials for children and young adults, with a focus on conservation and the natural world.

In 2017, Beverly and Dereck Joubert received the Crystal Award from the World Economic Forum for their work in wildlife conservation and filmmaking.
