Bernie Blackall biography

Bernie Blackall is an Australian author and educator. He writes children’s non-fiction about sports and outdoor activities, with more than two dozen books in those areas.

His sports books include Rugby League, a 32-page title in the Play the Game series for readers aged 9 to 12. The book introduces rugby league through its history, rules, equipment, key skills and warm-ups, and it was published by Redback Publishing on 16 June 2026.

Blackall’s Play the Game title Golf gives young readers an overview of golf history, rules, equipment, key skills and warm-ups. The hardcover edition was scheduled for release on 23 June 2026.

His Play the Game title Netball covers star netball players, the sport’s history, rules, equipment, key skills and warm-ups for young players and sports enthusiasts.
