Benjamin Dean is a British author known for his children’s and young adult fiction. His debut novel, Me, My Dad and the End of the Rainbow, was published by Simon & Schuster Children’s UK in 2021. The book was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize in 2022. Dean’s second children’s novel, The Secret Sunshine Project, was released in 2022, also by Simon & Schuster Children’s UK.
Dean has written the Leo and the Map of Monsters series, which includes Leo and the Map of Monsters (2021), Leo and the Octopus Invasion (2022), and Leo and the Bermuda Triangle (2023). In 2023, he published his first young adult novel, The King is Dead, with Simon & Schuster Children’s UK.
Before becoming a full-time author, Dean worked as a celebrity reporter. His books have been recognised for their representation and have received critical attention. In 2022, Me, My Dad and the End of the Rainbow was longlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award. Dean’s work continues to be published by Simon & Schuster Children’s UK.
