Ava Reid writes gothic fantasy novels. Her books include A Study in Drowning, Juniper & Thorn, The Wolf and the Woodsman and Lady Macbeth. A Study in Drowning is the opening book in the A Study in Drowning duology, and A Theory of Dreaming is the sequel and final book in that duology.
A Study in Drowning was published on 19 September 2023 in a 432-page hardback edition. The novel follows Effy, an architecture student, and Preston Héloury, a literature scholar, as they investigate the legacy of the author Emrys Myrddin at Hiraeth Manor.
Lady Macbeth is Reid’s reimagining of Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth. Del Rey published the hardback and ebook editions on 13 August 2024, and the paperback edition on 6 May 2025.
Innamorata is a gothic fantasy about necromancy, vengeance and love, and it is book one of The House of Teeth Duology. Del Rey published the hardback edition on 17 March 2026.
