Arvin Ahmadi is an American author known for his contributions to young adult literature. He graduated from Columbia University, where he studied political science and computer science. Ahmadi’s debut novel, Down and Across, was published in 2018 by Viking Books for Young Readers. The story follows a teenager named Scott Ferdowsi who embarks on a journey to find his true passion.
In 2019, Ahmadi released his second novel, Girl Gone Viral, also published by Viking Books for Young Readers. This book explores themes of technology and identity through the story of a young coder named Opal Hopper. Ahmadi’s third novel, How It All Blew Up, was published in 2020. The book deals with themes of family, identity, and self-discovery, following an Iranian-American teenager who flees to Rome after being outed to his parents.
Ahmadi’s work has been recognised for its exploration of contemporary issues faced by young adults, particularly those related to cultural identity and personal growth. His novels have been praised for their engaging narratives and relatable characters. How It All Blew Up was named a Best Book of the Year by several publications, including Time and BuzzFeed.
