Anna Kövecses is a Hungarian-born illustrator and author, based in Cyprus. She works in digital collage, creating children’s books, board books and educational picture books. Her style is defined by simple organic shapes, bold colours and a playful, naïve charm.
Her independently published board books include One Thousand Things, Opposite Things, Counting Things and One Hundred Words: Learn to Write Your First Letters with Little Mouse. She also illustrated Make Your Own Farm, a hands-on board-book set.
Before entering commercial publishing, she created an illustrated alphabet book for her daughter. Her first editorial commissions appeared soon after, thanks to these self-initiated projects.
Kövecses collaborates with editorial, brand and magazine clients, including BBC, IKEA, The Economist and The Guardian, balancing commercial commissions with personal creative work.
The most recent milestone in her career is the publication of Opposite Things in August 2017.
