Ann Kelly biography

Ann Kelly is a golf writer whose books introduce the sport to beginning players. Her published work includes Feeling Naked on the First Tee: An Essential Guide for New Women Golfers and Ready . . . Set . . . GOLF!: An Essential Guide for Young Golfers.

Feeling Naked on the First Tee was first published by GA Kelly Publishing in 1999. Later editions updated the book for new women golfers, with sections on equipment, dress codes, golf terminology, etiquette, basic rules and pace of play.

Kelly’s background includes teaching physical education and working with women returning to employment. Her author material links that experience with the direct, beginner-friendly approach used in her golf books.

Ready . . . Set . . . GOLF! was published by GA Kelly Publishing in 2009, with illustrations by Soren Henrich and design by Miriam MacPhail. The book is written for children beginning golf and covers equipment, clothing, lessons, practice, competition, simplified rules and golf trivia.
