Anika Hussain biography

Anika Hussain is a young adult author who was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. She is a graduate of the Bath Spa MAWYP. She writes YA novels with South Asian characters at the heart of the story.

Her debut novel, This Is How You Fall in Love, is a YA Desi romantic comedy about best friends Zara and Adnan, fake dating, family dynamics, cultural stereotypes and friendship. The hardback edition was published by Bloomsbury YA on 13 February 2024, with ISBN 9781547614509.

Hussain also retold Scandinavian stories for young readers in Norse Folktales, Myths and Legends. The ebook was published on 14 September 2023 and includes stories connected with Loki, Thor, Little Thumbelina and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

Her novel Heartbreaker follows Saachi, who plans to get revenge after school bad boy Fahim breaks her best friend Mona’s heart. Heartbreaker was published on 8 May 2025.
