Amelia Marshall is a children’s author who has worked in primary education and publishing for more than ten years. Her published work includes picture books, reading-scheme titles, traditional tale retellings and children’s non-fiction.
Marshall created the Digger and Friends series, published by Franklin Watts. The four books are Digger’s Busy Day, Tractor’s Farmyard Fun, Big Truck’s Road Adventure and Emergency! Emergency!. They combine photographs and illustration with rhyming text about vehicles and machinery.
She has also written extensively for Franklin Watts’ Reading Champion series, which is linked to book bands and was developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education. Her contributions include retellings such as The Magic Porridge Pot, Rumpelstiltskin, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Pied Piper of Hamelin and The Snow Queen, as well as The Little Red Tortoise, illustrated by Evelline Andrya.
Marshall is also the author of the children’s non-fiction title The Wow and How of Space, published by Wayland. The book explores striking facts about space alongside explanations of the science behind them and was published in 2024.
