Amelia Giudici biography

Amelia Giudici is a children’s author whose work explores identity and the uncanny within accessible, page-turning fiction. She studied Philosophy at the University of Cambridge before moving into teaching, an experience that informs her writing for young readers.

Giudici was selected for the 2022 London Writers Awards in the YA/Children’s Fiction category, a development programme run by Spread the Word. Her debut manuscript, Anya and the Light Above the Ocean, was longlisted for the Bath Children’s Novel Award 2022. She is represented by The Agency.

Anya and the Light Above the Ocean follows a girl searching for her missing mother during a storm and encountering a mysterious window of light above the sea. Andersen Press acquired the novel in a two-book deal and positioned it for readers aged 9+.
