Adam Baron is a British author known for his work in children’s and young adult literature. He has a background in the arts, having studied at the University of East Anglia and the University of Sussex. Baron has also worked as a stand-up comedian and a television scriptwriter, contributing to his diverse storytelling skills.
His debut children’s novel, Boy Underwater, was published by HarperCollins in 2018. The book received critical acclaim for its sensitive handling of complex themes and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. It tells the story of a young boy named Cymbeline Igloo, who embarks on a journey to uncover family secrets.
Following the success of his first novel, Baron published You Won’t Believe This in 2019, which continues to explore themes of family and friendship through engaging narratives. His third children’s book, Somebody Swallowed Stanley, was released in 2019, further establishing his reputation in the genre.
In addition to his work as an author, Baron is a lecturer in Creative Writing at Kingston University, where he shares his expertise with aspiring writers. His contributions to literature and education have made him a respected figure in the literary community.
