A.J. Wood is a British author known for writing and editing children’s books. She has written numerous titles, particularly in the fields of natural history and early learning. Wood has collaborated with illustrators such as Mike Bostock and Maurice Pledger. Her works include The Elephant’s Child, In the Rainforest, and Shark. She has also contributed to the Look Closer series and the Read and Wonder series published by Walker Books.
Wood’s book The Secret World of Whales, illustrated by Peter Barrett, was published by Dorling Kindersley. She has served as an editor for Templar Publishing, where she worked on the Ology series, including Dragonology and Egyptology. Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons, which she co-authored, became a bestseller and received international recognition.
A.J. Wood’s books have been translated into multiple languages and are published by major houses such as Walker Books, Dorling Kindersley, and Templar Publishing. Dragonology was shortlisted for the British Book Awards in 2004.
