Our review:
With beautiful use of rhyme and engaging, bright illustrations to capture the reader’s eye, Love Is All We Need sends a powerful and important message to the young reader.
Learning that there are different types of families and that all families are great as long as the members love and care for one another helps children grow and develop. This is highlighted in this book and is important to teach in our current climate.
It can be difficult for both adults and children to grasp the concept of love. This book illustrates various ideas that children can identify with, such as friendship, kindness, and encouragement.
The finest thing we can do to “teach” our children about love is to show them how to appreciate and cherish these virtues by inadvertently teaching them compassion and love on a daily basis. There are wonderful examples of how children can exhibit this, such as:
Love comes in handy when things go wrong.
Encouraging voices cheer us along.
Love lends a hand when we’re feeling stuck…
Or comforts us when we’re down on our luck.
Diversity is highlighted beautifully in this children’s book. Children must be able to communicate and understand the traditions, holidays, and beliefs of their families.
It’s important for children to recognise that there are many different holidays observed around the world, not just their own.
We celebrate our special days, in so many beautifully different ways.
When we gather, all as one, we laugh and play, it’s so much fun!
Our verdict:
Children, parents, and teachers will love to share and learn from Love Is All We Need. It’s a wonderfully vibrant and happy book that I recommend for children from nursery age and upwards.
