Our review:
Set against a backdrop of mysterious, magical woods through the ages, three girls bound together by magic face danger in the woods they are so powerfully bound to. Aine, from 60 AD, is an escaped slave girl trapped without a voice in the woods she sought refuge in. In 1783, Sarah has been surviving in the woods using the skills her ‘healer woman’ mother taught her, until she realises she is not alone. Marie is in our present day; always feeling different, she has retreated to her Aunt Jen’s house near the woods. She is about to find out just how different she is…
Each of the girls faces their own challenges: to speak out, to survive, to find answers to a family tragedy. Browne’s Folly in the woods unites these three girls, despite their separation by hundreds or thousands of years. A dangerous force in the woods threatens the girls and all who try to stop it. Marie must embrace the strangeness she has always known was within her and was passed down to her from Matty, her beloved uncle, whose mysterious car crash she hopes to solve.
Strength, determination and magical power flow through each of these women; only by working together can they survive and defeat the looming evil in the woods.
Ghost is a story of survival and magic, perfect for the winter months. It is a fast-paced, magical read ideal for young fantasy fans.
