Yoko Mori biography

Yoko Mori is a Japanese painter-author and illustrator born in Tokyo in 1959. She is known for pencil drawings that evoke nostalgic scenes of Tokyo life in the 1960s—her childhood era. Teddy’s Midnight Adventure is her first book published in English.

Teddy’s Midnight Adventure, both written and illustrated by Mori, was translated into English by Cathy Hirano. It was published by Pushkin Children’s Books in 2023. The story follows a girl named Akiko and her Teddy as they search for his missing button eye in a moonlit garden. It is aimed at children aged 5-7 years.
