Willard Price was a Canadian-born American author and journalist, known for his adventure novels for children. He was born in Peterborough, Ontario, and later moved to the United States, where he attended Western Reserve University and Columbia University. Price worked as a journalist and travelled extensively, reporting from various countries around the world.
He is best known for the Adventure series, which follows the exploits of Hal and Roger Hunt, two brothers who travel to different parts of the world collecting animals for zoos. The series began with Amazon Adventure in 1949 and includes titles such as South Sea Adventure, Underwater Adventure, and Safari Adventure. The books are noted for their detailed descriptions of wildlife and natural environments, reflecting Price’s interest in nature and conservation.
In addition to the Adventure series, Price wrote non-fiction works on travel, exploration, and social issues. His career as a journalist and author spanned several decades, during which he published numerous books for both children and adults.
