Tracy Deonn biography

Tracy Deonn is the author of The Legendborn Cycle. She earned a master’s degree in communication and performance studies, then worked in live theatre, video game production and K–12 education before her published young adult fantasy novels.

Legendborn is book one of The Legendborn Cycle and was published by Margaret K. McElderry Books on 15 September 2020. The novel is a young adult contemporary fantasy that reimagines the King Arthur legend with Southern Black Girl Magic, and it won the Coretta Scott King–John Steptoe New Talent Author Award.

Bloodmarked is book two of The Legendborn Cycle and was published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers on 8 November 2022. It continues Bree Matthews’s story after her entry into the Legendborn Order and develops the series’ Arthurian secret-society fantasy setting.

Oathbound is book three of The Legendborn Cycle and was published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers on 4 March 2025.
