Tom Fletcher biography

Tom Fletcher is a British author and musician, known for his work in children’s literature. He is a founding member of the band McFly. Fletcher began his writing career co-authoring the bestselling picture book The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas (2012) with Dougie Poynter, published by Red Fox. The book became a bestseller in the UK and led to a series, including The Dinosaur That Pooped a Planet (2013), The Dinosaur That Pooped the Past! (2014), and several others.

Fletcher has written solo works, including the middle-grade novel The Christmasaurus (2016), published by Puffin. The book was followed by sequels The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch (2019) and The Christmasaurus and the Naughty List (2021). He is also the author of The Creakers (2017) and Brain Freeze (2018).

In 2018, Fletcher published Eve of Man, a young adult novel co-written with Giovanna Fletcher, released by Penguin. The book is the first in a trilogy, with Eve of Man: The New Dawn published in 2020.

Fletcher’s books have appeared on the Sunday Times bestseller list. The Christmasaurus was shortlisted for the British Book Awards in 2017. His works have been translated into multiple languages and adapted for stage performances.

In 2022, Fletcher published Space Band, a middle-grade novel with Puffin. His books have sold over two million copies in the UK.
