Tess Sharpe biography

Tess Sharpe is an author known for writing young adult and adult fiction. She grew up in rural northern California. Sharpe’s debut novel, Far From You, was published by Indigo in 2014. The book is a young adult mystery featuring a protagonist recovering from trauma while investigating a friend’s death.

Sharpe has written several other novels for young readers, including Barbed Wire Heart and The Girls I’ve Been. The Girls I’ve Been was published by Hodder Children’s Books in 2021 and centres on a teenager with a complicated past involving her mother’s criminal activities. Sharpe’s work often explores themes of resilience, identity, and survival.

In addition to her solo novels, Sharpe has contributed to anthologies and collaborated with other authors. She co-wrote Toil & Trouble: 15 Tales of Women & Witchcraft, an anthology published by Harlequin Teen in 2018, alongside Jessica Spotswood and other contributors.

Sharpe’s writing has been recognised with nominations and listings, including the American Library Association’s Best Fiction for Young Adults for Far From You in 2015.
