Terri Libenson is an American cartoonist and author, best known for her work in children’s literature. She is the creator of the popular graphic novel series Emmie & Friends, which includes titles such as Invisible Emmie (2017), Positively Izzy (2018), Just Jaime (2019), Becoming Brianna (2020), You-Niquely You (2021), and Truly Tyler (2021). The series is published by HarperCollins and has been well-received for its relatable characters and engaging storytelling.
Before venturing into children’s literature, Libenson worked as a cartoonist for the syndicated comic strip The Pajama Diaries, which ran from 2006 to 2020. The strip was known for its humorous take on the life of a working mother and received several accolades, including being nominated for the prestigious Reuben Award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip by the National Cartoonists Society.
Libenson’s work in children’s literature has also been recognised with various awards and nominations. Invisible Emmie, her debut graphic novel, was a New York Times bestseller and has been translated into multiple languages, reaching a wide audience of young readers globally.
