T. Kingfisher biography

T. Kingfisher is the pen name of Ursula Vernon for adult writing. She writes fantasy, horror and other unusual fiction. Her books include Nettle & Bone, What Moves the Dead, Thornhedge, A House with Good Bones and A Sorceress Comes to Call.

Nettle & Bone was published by Tor Books on 26 April 2022. It is a 256-page fantasy novel and won the Hugo Award for Best Novel.

What Moves the Dead is the first volume in the Sworn Soldier series. It was published by Tor Nightfire and reimagines Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher”.

A Sorceress Comes to Call was published by Tor Books. It is a dark reimagining of the Brothers Grimm story “The Goose Girl”.

Thornhedge was published by Tor Books on 15 August 2023. It is a 128-page fantasy work about Toadling, a knight and a tower-bound princess, and Thornhedge won the Hugo Award for Best Novella.
