Sven Volker is a German author, illustrator, and designer known for his work in children’s literature. He has a background in graphic design and has worked on a range of creative projects, including book illustration and design for both children and adults. Volker is a professor of graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in Germany.
His picture books include There’s a Little Black Spot on the Sun Today, published by Cicada Books in 2019, which draws inspiration from the song “King of Pain” by The Police. Another notable title is Friends, also published by Cicada Books in 2020, which explores themes of friendship and individuality through bold, graphic illustrations.
Volker’s work has been recognised for its distinctive visual style and thoughtful approach to storytelling. His books have been featured in various international exhibitions and have received attention from design and literary communities.
In 2020, his book Friends was published by Cicada Books.
