Susan Brownrigg biography

Susan Brownrigg is a British children’s author. She studied Journalism, Film and Broadcasting in Cardiff.

Before publishing children’s fiction, Brownrigg worked in journalism, including as a journalist and chief sub editor (section head) for the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo weekly newspapers. She later worked in heritage and wildlife education, including as Learning Manager at Norton Priory Museum & Gardens, and in roles connected with Rufford Old Hall, Tatton Park, Quarry Bank Mill, Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and Blackpool Zoo.

Brownrigg’s Gracie Fairshaw mysteries are published by UCLan Publishing. The series includes Gracie Fairshaw and the Mysterious Guest (July 2020), Gracie Fairshaw and the Trouble at the Tower (2021), and Gracie Fairshaw and the Missing Reel (7 March 2024).

Her historical adventure Wrong Tracks, inspired by the Rainhill Trials and the early Liverpool & Manchester Railway, was published by UCLan Publishing on 9 January 2025.
