Sue H. Cunningham is a British author of young adult fiction. She writes humorous, fast-paced stories with a supernatural twist and has published widely as a short-story writer, with more than fifty pieces appearing in UK and international outlets.
Her debut novel, Totally Deceased, was published by Scholastic UK in October 2023. The book blends murder mystery with the afterlife, following a teenager who wakes from a heart transplant to find herself haunted by her donor. A second novel, Cloud Nine, a supernatural romantic comedy, was published in February 2025.
Cunningham’s early recognition includes winning the WriteMentor Children’s Novel Award (2020) and selection for the SCBWI Undiscovered Voices anthology (2022). Her work has also been shortlisted or longlisted in competitions such as the Northern Writers’ Awards and the Bath Children’s Novel Award.
She continues to write young adult fiction noted for pace, voice and accessible humour, and her novels are available in multiple formats for schools and libraries.
