Stephenie Meyer is an American author and film producer best known for The Twilight Saga, a young adult vampire romance series published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English literature. Her first novel, Twilight, was published on 5 October 2005 and introduced Bella Swan, a teenager who moves to Forks, Washington, and meets Edward Cullen.
The main Twilight sequence continued with New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Meyer later added The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined and Midnight Sun, which retells Twilight from Edward Cullen’s point of view.
Her other published novels include The Host, a science fiction novel, and The Chemist, a thriller. She has also worked in film through Fickle Fish Films, with producing credits connected to adaptations and other screen projects.
The Twilight Saga was adapted into five feature films. Hachette Book Group records that the series has sold more than 160 million copies worldwide.
