Simon Jimenez is a novelist whose books include The Vanished Birds and The Spear Cuts Through Water. The Vanished Birds is his debut novel; its ebook and audiobook were published on 14 January 2020, and its paperback was published by Del Rey on 26 January 2021.

The Vanished Birds is science fiction about Nia Imani, a space-travelling ship captain, and a mysterious child who communicates through music. The book was a finalist for the Locus Award and was selected as a Kirkus Reviews Best Book of the Year.

The Spear Cuts Through Water is his second book. Its ebook and audiobook were published on 30 August 2022, and its paperback was published by Del Rey on 30 May 2023.

The Spear Cuts Through Water is an epic fantasy about two warriors, Jun and Keema, who help an ancient god cross a broken land to end the rule of the Moon Throne. The novel won the IAFA Crawford Award and the British Fantasy Award, and it was shortlisted for the Ursula K. Le Guin Award and the Ignyte Award.
