Shoo Rayner is a British author and illustrator known for his work in children’s literature. He has written and illustrated numerous books for young readers, often focusing on early readers and developing literacy skills. Rayner studied at the Cambridge School of Art, where he specialised in illustration.
Rayner’s books include several popular series, such as the Rex Files, Dragon Gold, and Walker: The Cat Who Couldn’t Meow. He is also the creator of the Ginger Ninja series and the Olympuss Games books. His stories frequently feature animal characters and are designed to engage children who are beginning to read independently.
In addition to his writing and illustrating, Rayner has produced educational content, including drawing tutorials aimed at helping children develop their artistic skills. He has worked with a range of publishers, including Orchard Books and Barrington Stoke.
Rayner’s book Dragon Gold was published by Orchard Books in 1997.
