Sarah Morrell is a British children’s author known for her picture books and early chapter books. She began her writing career after working in the legal sector and later as a primary school teacher. Morrell’s stories often feature themes of friendship, resilience, and emotional wellbeing, drawing on her experience in education.
Her debut picture book, Emergency Rhyme Squad, was published by Owlet Press in 2021. The book introduces young readers to a team of animal characters who help others in need, using rhyme and humour to engage children. Morrell has also written Molly’s Magic Brolly, published by Owlet Press in 2022, which follows a young girl on a magical adventure with her umbrella. Another of her works, Vera McLuckie and the Daydream Club, is an early chapter book that explores neurodiversity and celebrates individuality among children.
Sarah Morrell’s books are used in schools and libraries to support discussions around emotions, diversity, and inclusion. She regularly visits schools to deliver workshops and author events, encouraging children to develop a love of reading and storytelling. In 2022, Molly’s Magic Brolly was published by Owlet Press.
