Sarah Harrison is an English novelist and children’s writer. She studied English at the University of London before beginning her career in journalism and spent four years working for the magazine Woman’s Own, after which she became a freelance writer.
Her first published books appeared in 1980: the novel The Flowers of the Field and the children’s book In Granny’s Garden. Harrison has written more than 50 titles across genres ranging from romance and historical fiction to children’s books and guides. Among her works is the writers’ guide How to Write a Blockbuster, first published in 1995.
Her “Flowers” sequence comprises The Flowers of the Field (1980), its sequel A Flower That’s Free (1984), and The Wildflower Path (2013). She also writes shorter fiction, children’s series (such as the “Laura” books), and contributes to radio and literary events. Her novel Heart’s Ease is among her more recent publications.
The Wildflower Path (2013) is a later addition to her “Flowers” trilogy.
